Trattoria Lafiandra al Museo (Singapore Art Museum) (12th Nov 2008)

Heard about this place from some friends... decided to give it a try, even though I had saw mixed reviews about it....

so today a friend called me... one of my best dining friend, so i suggested Italian food... without thinking where to go except we need to be around City hall area...
Trust me... the turn into the car park when i saw the name of the restaurant is definitely not something anyone who is not a car racer should try......

Bottled water... Recommended Drink for the day....

yes !!! they do not serve tap water.... And warm water would get u a bottle of room temp water.... I wonder if they boil bottled water for the tea and coffee.... :P Haha though I have to admit that the water do taste different from the tap water I always drink...

Bruschetta - Toasted bread with tomato, olive oil and garlic
Free food... I don't complain much... esp about free food... unless it is really horrible.... which is not in this case.

Involtini Di Melanzane con Mozzarella
(Pan fried sliced eggplant rolled with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce)
I like this..... why?? because... it was the best dish that was being served to us that day. Simple eggplant with lots of cheese and tomato sauce. Nothing complicated ... everything was easy and simple....

Risotto Ai Porcini
(Italian Rice with Gourmet mushroom)

I know that alot of places are using a type of mushroom which is quite sandy tasting... I don't usually like my Risotto with slightly uncooked grains... esp when mixed with the sandy taste of the mushroom.... I just felt like a camel in the dessert... with every bite of my food, I would sure to get some sand mixed in it.... I like Risotto, I like mushroom... but not this mushroom and this risotto.

Tortelloni Ripieni Di Funghi E Formaggio
(Home made Tortelloni with mushroom and cheese in gorgonzola sauce)

The tortelloni was okay... nothing wow about it. I guess it's just another pasta dish.

I am surprised at how much praises my friends had given towards this place. It would not be a place I would highly recommend to any of my frens, even if they happened to be at the musuem. I would think walking to Raffles place shopping centre would give better choices for meals. But I could be wrong... afterall, I only tried their non meat stuffs that day.

I think you don't know what you are talking about. Probably you have never eaten mushrooms, or risotto. Anyway...yes, go to raffles place and eat some burger.

To this person who refused to leave his / her name,
I just say what I felt about that dish. It might not be your experience, which is fine with me.

Without knowing me or my favorite italian dish, I doubt you can comment if I had or had not eaten risotto.

As for mushroom, I definitely am a big fan of it, and so was the person who went with me. That person happened to be a vegetarian and mushrooms were a huge part of the diet.

Lastly, thanks for the visit and your advice, but i am not a burger fan.
